RIM details features of the BlackBerry Security Playbook
Since RIM announced the BlackBerry playbook I know many companies and administrators even regular users were curious about the security model. RIM has done quite a lot with BlackBerry Bridge, but I noticed that it is a document that clearly details published the entire security model of BlackBerry Playbook. It's actually quite cool, as in certain applications can work or personal mode and run as RIM controls, and plans to administrators can manage in the future. You even have to suggest that future applications can work on the intranet via the BlackBerry Bridge access without VPN. Kind of cool!
If you ever interested in how RIM secures the operating system and the bridge connecting the BlackBerry playbook I recommend reading their PDF manual titled "BlackBerry Playbook Security Technical Overview." I have tried to grasp it, but found that the summary was almost as long as a PDF. There are still some questions that RIM needs to know how BES admins can push out applications and secure it, but I hope that with the BlackBerry world will answer next week! Let me know if you have something good seat!
