Read on to get the full scoop on RIM's first successful full-touchscreen device.Size, Weight and Feel
The Blackberry 9850/9860 Torch has a really sleek design and elegant appearance. When you first pick it up immediately feels great in your hands, especially because it horizontally as it re-curved ends for a whole new feel for games and tap the Full Screen Keyboard has held. It is a very respectable screen size of 3.7 "and solid construction make the phone feel like it was done well and not with cheap plastics. The battery compartment is made of metal and gives it a nice solid feel, however, it is a little on the weight weighs. With a weight of 4.76 ounces 1 ounce, or about 20% less than in the 9810th Torch
I have put this device in the hands of several people (including my wife, who has a style 9670) and asked what she thought of the size, weight and feel. I received very positive feedback from them, and they all seemed very happy weight. She commented on the fact that it felt like a really solid phone. Even my wife said that she does not like touch screen devices, but they really enjoyed the styling and placement of buttons, especially the full stop button on the top of the unit.
Compass
It makes me really happy to see that RIM has gone for useful technology in their phones and listen to what people want. The torch comes fully loaded 9850/9860 with a digital compass, which is the use of applications such as augmented reality application allows Wikitude.
As great as this feature is, I do not really think it'll answer that, as I always found myself quite frustrated perfected to calibrate the compass several times while trying to use it. I found myself tilting and rotating the phone while walking on the street. I was always very strange looks from people wondering what the hell was I doing on my phone.
