Android applications
The way that RIM has put Android apps run on OS 2.0 Playbook is a thing of beauty. We tested several, and all were able to preserve their flavor Google functionality, but use of that playbook respectable internal hardware and OS is multitasking performance. The end result was satisfactory.
What stays the same?
Speed
Right out of the box, QNX has always felt that respond remarkably, even if with a view to the raw processing power of Tegra 2 Android-powered hardware and Apple's iPad second After using the developer's Playbook 2.0 build for a number of weeks, we find that the tablet provides a more pleasing user experience zippy, with several local and Android applications run simultaneously in the background.
Battery Life
The Playbook battery life has never been one of his socks. Although the performance you play over a day at work, a few games on the way home often leaves the unit depleted energy reserves. From what we saw during the test, this has not changed.
Start time
Initialization and the restart of the playbook has always been a painfully slow process. This has not changed with version 2.0 of the operating system.
What remains to be seen?
Blackberry Messenger
RIM Blackberry Messenger cites compatibility problems with the new OS playbook as the main reasons for the delay the launch until 2012. To ensure that the company's customers an optimal user to get experience of the push-messaging application, has said RIM that BBM is a series of closed beta testing to be subjected to selected corporate customers to ensure that everything works as it should be. This means that, apart from have leaked information are we likely feel no sense of what the finished product as in form or function until it is released publicly.
Native email and calendar applications
It is rumored that RIM's efforts Blackberry Exchange Server has to offer some support for QNX borne fruits rather unstable. While this is not a problem for users who might their e-mail and calendars from their BlackBerry smartphone to their playbook power, this impact on individuals, the use of RIM's tablet as a standalone unit productivity. Will RIM forced to renounce the use of BES services in favor of a more QNX-friendly format, such as IMAP, POP, or Exchange ActiveSync CalDAV, the work to be done? Once again it is very likely that we know only in February.
